Planning Borough, Kamo Town Areas

Progress in town planning of both Whangarei Borough and Kamo Town District was reached at a conference between representatives of the borough council and the town board. It had now been ascertained that both council and board were interested in the actual planning of the urban unit, the council’s representative reported to the council last night.

The conference had studied carefully-, and perhaps critically, the methods which would have to be adopted to meet the problems in the areas under consideration. It had achieved something in town planning and orderly development. Remarkable development in the direction of the board's area had been forecast and the conference had been satisfied that this development must be planned to avoid problems of considerable magnitude in the future. Every member of the conference had agreed and hoped that the lead given by the council would be followed and that both bodies jointly would adopt methods to solve the problems at issue. The report was adopted.
