Britain Leads In Jet Propulsion

(Rec. 2 p.m.) LONDON, June 20. Britain is at least a year ahead in development of jet engines and. by 1950. when jet-engines will be fitted to civil aircraft. will be second to none in aviation, said the Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Supply (Mr Woodburn).

He added that the next prototype of the Brabazon I. plane, fitted with a jet engine would be ready to take the air in 1948.
