N.Z. Officer In London Play
(Special. 11.0.) LONDON. June 20. Nigel Neilson, a New Zealander, who won the Military Cross, the French Legion of Honour. and the Croix de Guerre during war service, appears in the part of an English Guards officer in the current production at tiie Embassy Theatre—Martha Yellhorn and Virginia Cowles’ war play. "Love Goes to Press.” The play is a comedy, set in a Press camp on the Italian front, where the joint authors served as America!) newspaper correspondents.
Neilson, who is a son of Colonel W. Neilscn, of Haumoana, Hawke's Bay. left New Zealand in 1938 to study dramatic art in Britain. He won a scholarship from the Royal College for dramatic art.
He enlisted with the Royal Tank Regiment early in the war and reached a major’s rank. He won the Military Cross for gallantry in the Desert.
Later he was transferred to special air service and worked with the resistance movement in France, Holland and Germany, where he was awarded the Croix de Guerre and the Legion of Honour.
