Torrential Downpour Of Rain At Whangarei

Heavy rain in the Whangarei district early this morning, with lighter showers following, has consolidated the benefit to pastures resultant from the fall a week ago.

Threatening clouds last night gave place to torrential downpours in the early morning hours during which nearly half an inch of rain was registered.

By daylight the rain had eased to occasional showers which were followed during the late morning and afternoon by light showers.
