Ambush In Java

BATAVIA, April 1
One British soldier was killed and two officers and nine men wounded, and two men are missing, believed killed, as a result of the ambushing of a British patrol at Palembang yesterday. Mortar-fire later cleared up the ambush. Other week-end clashes are reported from several parts of Java and Celebes.
