May Win Fight Against Inflation
(11.30 a.m.) WASHINGTON. Mar. 31 The director of Economic Stabiisation <Mr Bowles) told Hie House Banking and Currency Committee that the high rate of civilian production in the last six weeks indicated that the fight against inflation would probably be won by June 30, 1947, except for rents and a few other inflated fields.
He said that civilian production nl presently was 48 per cent greater than before the war. and added that new fears and jitters would plague the nation if price control were not extended.
