Aurora Australis May Be Seen
ip.A.t WELLINGTON, This Day. There is a distinct probability that the Aurora Australis may be observed in several parts of New Zealand, particularly in the Far South, as a result cl' renewed sunspot activity which has become apparent. The displays, if they eventuate, may Le expected any night from tomorrow to Mate}’. 6. The usual time for the Aurora if between 9 p.m. and rnidnighi. but a good display can last a greater part of the night Cloudy conditions have made obser\alien of the sunspots difficult. Study lit is been possible only for brief, iiffcivtl.. but so far as can be seen, there rtorns to be a great area of the sun which can only be described as "gathered." The area of the original sunspot group consisted of two fairly letge spots, and so far as can be ascertained. the leading one has disintcgiated. It -is likely that their reaopearnneo will result in faulty radio reception, partic ih'.rly of overseas broadcasts.
