DANCE IN EVENING 410 RESCINDING RESOLUTION PROHIBITING EXTRAORDINARY SUPPLY OF WATER Public notice is hereby given that the resolution of the Whangarei Borough Council, dated December 5, 1945, wherein the use of an extraordinary supply of water for the purpose of watering a garden or lawn or for other similar purpose was prohibited except between the hours of G p.m. and 7 p.m. each day, was, by resolution of the Council, dated December 20, 1945, and in terms of By-law No. 1, Part XVlll—Waterworks Clause 725, ordered to be rescinded as from MONDAY, January 7,194 G. Mi D OG REGISTRATION i It is hereby notified that the registration fee for the year 1946 for any dog kept by any person in the Borough of Whangarei has been fixed at 10/-, except in the case of dogs kept by any shepherd, drover or farmer and used for driving sheep or cattle, where the fee has been fixed at 2/6 for each dog. Attention is drawn to the provisions of Section 4 of Ihe Dog Registration Amendment Act, 1938. to the effect that in addition to the fee payable under the principal Act for the Registration of a dog. there shall be payable in respect to the supply of an approved remedy for the prevention of hydatid disease, a fee of a prescribed amount (fijjced by regulation at 1/- for each dog registered), and until payment of the additional fee, registration shall not be deemed to have been duly made. All registrations must he effected before March 1, 1946. Registrar: Mr. J. H. Ashton. W T ATT. now merges into the “NORTHLAND KIWI GARDENS” KAUIKA & KERIKERI ROADS. WHANGAREI. For 30 years Mr. S. J. Watt has been supplying the greengrocers, stores and the public of Whangarei with first grade produce, principally in latter years— HOTHOUSE TOMATOES. LETTUCE. CUCUMBERS, etc., though in earlier years Grotto Strawberries were a favoured feature. Now, the Grot'o Gardens are to be closed and merged into the “NORTHLAND KIWI GARDENS” (late property of Mr. Horace Weaver). Three young returned Kiwis, who have served throughout the past six years in various theatres of war, —G. A. WARDELL —R. PATON —J. GRAHAM have founded these splendid new gardens under the capable directorship of Mr. Watt, whose many years of practical produce growing will prove invaluable in the rehabilitation of these returned Kiwis into supplying a very necessary service to the public. “THE NORTHLAND KIWI GARDENS” have this season provided thousands of pounds of tomatoes to the public through greengrocers and stores. Four large, modern glasshouses have grown . this fruit and next season these will be ! increased to six houses, the two 160 ft. houses from the Grotto Gardens being transferred to Kauika Road. “THE NORTHLAND KIWI GARDENS” will supply principally the greengrocers and stores, fruit being delivered as soon as possible after ordering, but case lots will be available also to the public. * PHONE 5727 Mr. Watt thanks his many clients in Whangarei and throughout the North and trusts that the splendid support he has always received from the Northland public will also be given to the new “NORTHLAND KIWI GARDENS” now owned and worked by GORDON WARDELL ROY PATON JOHN GRAHAM who extend NEW YEAR GREETINGS TO ALL! 723
