Hirohito’s Fortune To Go In Reparations

(11.30 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Oct. 31. Emperor Hirohito’s personal fortune of over 100,000,000 dollars will be included in a pool of Japanese assets to be used in the payment of reparations, said Mr. Edwin Pauley. American representative on the Allied Reparations Commission after conferring with President Truman. Mi’. Pauley is going 'to Japan to investigate the amount and character of Japanese reparations. Upon his return he will consult members of the Far Eastern Advisory Commission regarding the division of reparations among claimant powers.
