Cos! of putting in order right-of-ways in the business arm was reported to (he Works Committee of the Whangarei Borough Council by the engineer (Mr I. A. Cromiep (he committee advising Uhe council that it had asked the Mayor (Mr W. Jones) to call a conference of owners of private ways to discuss remedial repair works. To bring them up to reasonable standard tar-sealing would be desirable in all cases (he engineer reported. Costs were —Right-of-way from Rathbone Street through to Robert Street (three owners), £34. £ll4 and £6O, a total of £208; between Clyde Street and Albert Street, £105; Water Street by embankment, £55; Bank Street to embankment. £26; Rust Lane to National Bank of New Zealand, £22. The report was adopted.
