Asks If R.N.Z.A.F. Band To Make Overseas Visit
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day,
In the House of Representatives today Mr G. F. Sim (Disposition—Rotorua) gave notice lo ask the Minister for Defence if il was proposed to send the R.N.Z.A.F. band to either Australia or America. If so, would all band members be compelled to go. What benefits would result from such a lour now that the war was over.
Mr K. J. Hol.voake (Opposition—Pahiatua) asked the Minister for Industries and Commerce whether, in connection with the issue ol licenses for the manufacture off lyres. he had power to appoint any other person to replace himself as the appeal authority, or whether his power was limited 10 nominating another person to report to him. Would the Minister grant persons who were not applicants the right to make appeals, and would he direct that appeals would be held in public. The Minister (Hon. D. G. Sullivan): I am got the appeal authority. It is entirely independent of me.
