Churchill Rallied All Freedom Forces -Fraser
(Rec. 11.15 a.m.) LONDON. Aug. 23
The New Zealand Prime Minister (Hon. P. Fraser), in a letter to Mr. Churchill, said: “I would like you to know how much your unflinching and inspiring leadership during the trying', difficult, and sometimes even depressing and soul-searching years of war meant to the Government and people of New Zealand, particularly myself.” The letter adds that differences in political principles cannot obscure the fact that Mr. Churchill's mighty services were of incalculable value, and his voice was the rallying voice of the forces of freedom. “You placed all the British people, indeed, the whole of the freedom-lov-ing' world, immeasurably in your debt.” , , ~ . , Mr. Churchill telegraphed his reply: “Our work together has always been of the pleasantest, despite the grave affairs with which we had to deal. Britain will never forget the long and glorious story of the New Zealand Division.”
