Receipts Division For Shield Games
Agreement on the division of gate receipts at the Harding Shield and Brake Shield matches at Dargaville tomorrow has been reached by the Whangarei and Northern Wairoa Rugby Union. Negotiations were made necessary because ol: the fact that the unions will be playing two shield games, each having different rule provisions. Harding Shield profits are divided equally between holder and challenger while Brake Shield profits are retained by the defending side irrespective of result. With Northern Wairoa defending both shields against Whangarei on the same day the resultant financial complication required negotiations which brought amicable settlement. Based on the amount of the gate Whangarei’s share (shown in parentheses) will be: £2OO gate, (£80); £IBO. (£70); £l6O (£60); £l4O (£50); £l2O (£40); £ICO (£3C); £BO or less (£2O).
