The death has occurred of Mr Thomas William Hannam, of Auckland, and late of Whangarei, at the age of 82. Born at Rochdale, Lancashire, England. in 1864, Mr Hannam arrived in New Zealand on Christmas Day of 1881. He made the journey, which took four months, in the sailing ship May Queen. He commenced his trade as a bricklayer in Auckland, where he served his time, in 1886 moving north to Whangarei. where he remained in the building trade. He married Miss E. J. Buck, of Auckland.
