Six days afler his 97th birthday, Mr George Knight, a well-known figure in Auckland civic life for over 30 years, died yesterday at his home, Knight’s Avenue, Mount Albert. He had been a resident of Auckland for more than 60 years. Mr G. A. R. McKoy, president of the Northland and Whangarei Next-of-Kin Associations, and Mr H. R. Collier, secretary of the Northland organisation, have been appointed to the executive of the Whangarei branch of the 2nd N.Z.E.F. Association, and were welcomed to an executive meeting last night by the president (Mr A. J. Blumenthal). Mr S. E. Foot was appointed secretary to replace Mr H. R. McKenzie, who has been elected treasurer.
