Dairy Company Farewells Former Secretary-Managed
The directorate of the Whangarei Dairy Company entertained Mr. G. E. Hill, late secretary-manager of the company, and his mother. Mrs. M. H. Hill, at a farewell luncheon at the Settlers’ Hotel today. Eulogistic reference was made by Mr. E. S. Tremaine, chairman of the company, to Mr. Hill’s 23 years’ sterling service to the company, which owed its present proud position in no small manner to his business acumen, foresight and excellent char aeter. Gratification at his grand recovery from his serious illness, and the highest regards and best wishes for their future happiness was expressed to Mr. Hill and Mrs. Hill, and was endorsed by all present. Mr. Hill, who is taking up residence in Hastings, where he will be associated in business with' his brother, replied. thanking members for their very kind expressions of goodwill. Whangarei and the Whangarei Dairy Company would always be synonymous in his thoughts, as in his mother’s, and both felt very sad at leaving the town and the company, where they had so very many good and tried friends.
