Bitter Fighting In China

(Rec. 1.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, Aug. 21. Yenan radio announced that Chinese Communists captured Yangchung on the Yangtse River, 60 miles east of Nanking, and also engaged in bitter fighting at Wuhu. Other troops captured Chouhsiang, south of Shanghai. Puppet forces defended the town. The Associated Press correspondent at Chungking states that Nationalist troops occupied five more towns in Honan, also Chunshih Island at the mouth' of the Min River, below Foochow.
