Japs Protest Again At “Humanitarian Teams”

(Rec. 1.30 pun.) NEW YORK, Aug. 21. The Japanese have again radioed General MacArthur asking him not to parachute “humanitarian teams.” The Japanese added that with the cooperation of the Red Cross and Swiss officials, captives were being adequately provided for. “We are amply protecting the teams which have already flown to camps, but it is impossible for us to bear the responsibility for the safety of such teams in future,” the message said. In Chungking General Wedemeyer announced that he had received word from Mukden that all American personnel landing there would probably be interned until the Russians permit the Japanese to allow such landings,
