New Zealand Cruiser In Japanese Waters

(Special) WELLINGTON, This Day. The New Zealand naval ship which will be in Japanese waters when the surrender terms are signed by Japan lias been identified in official quarters as the Dominion cruiser H.M.N.Z.S. Gambia.

This was the vessel referred to on Friday by the Prime Minister (Hon. p. Fraser) when he said that one ol’ New Zealand’s naval vessels would be in Japanese waters under the com - mand of Admiral Sir Bruce Fraser, of the British Pacific Fleet, when the signing took place.
