LONDON. June 14. German civilians under the direction of the United States Military Government are marking a mass grave of 3500 dead from Dachau concentration camp with an elaborate memorial, says ? the Associated Press correspondent. One hundred and fifty Germans are working on the project, which is costing 500,000 marks, to be drawn from German funds. Two 50ft. stone columns are being erected, one bearing a ci’oss and the other the Star of David. Commandant Arrested The commandant of the Buchenwald concentration camp has been found in a prisoner-of-war cage near Munich. He and 18 of his henchmen were recognised among thousands of prisoners. The Inspector-General of German concentration camps, S.S. General Walther Schmitt, has been arrested near Prague, says the Prague correspondent of the Associated Press. He was wearing civilian clothes and posing as a retired major. Himmler's chauffeur. Heinz Bley, was arrested with him. It is expected that both will be turned over to the Allies.
