Ruthless War Against Black Marketeers

(Rec. 2 p.rn.) PARIS, June 13. M. Christian Pineau, new Food Minister. announced “ruthless, warfare” against black marketeers with the aid of many new officials recruited from former political deportees and active Resistance Movement members. M. Pineau, whose face still showed traces of his detention in Buchemvald, said the outlook for Ihe proper feeding of the French nation was likely to remain gloomy for a long time. Even if all illegal traffic was suppressed there would still not be enough food in France to meet everybody’s minimum requirements. The only possibility of improving present rations was by imports.
