This flock was founded in 1932 by the purchase of foundation ewes from Col. J. Findlay and D. W. Westenra, Canterbury, and later added to by selections from Messrs. J. Knight, A. Burgess, Ellis Bros, and H. J. Andrew. Selected sires have always been used. The flock has been passed for transfer by the Southdown Society. This flock was founded in 1937 by the purchase of 40 selected ewes from J. Callesen and 10 ewes from C. T. Keeble, and later added to by further ewes from D. J. Willis. A. E. Sandiland's Estate and R. J. Moore. Selected Bankhead, Whakapuni and Kamano sires have been used. The flock has been passed for transfer by the Romney Association. . NOTE—Entries of both Romneys and Southdowns captured winning tickets at the Marton Shows, 1944 and 1945. Both flocks have been bred and reared under natural conditions and will come forward for sale in excellent order and condition. W r e strongly recommend this sale to the attention of buyers.
