This flock was founded in 1932 by the purchase of foundation ewes from Col. J. Findlay and D. W. Westenra, Canterbury, and later added to by selections from Messrs. J. Knight, A. Burgess, Ellis Bros, and H. J. Andrew. Selected sires have always been used. The flock has been passed for transfer by the Southdown Society.
