Lecturer In Philosophy

(Roc. 1 p.m.) SYDNEY. This Day. Dr. Karl. R. Popper, at present senior lecturer in Philosophy at Canterbury University College. Christchurch, has been appointed a lecturer in Philosophy at Sydney University. Tiie appointment was made after a stormy meeting of the University Senate, says the "Daily Telegraph.",only a small majority being in favour of the appointment. Chief objection raised against (he appointment was that Dr. Popper is an unnaturalised Austrian. Although he has been in New Zealand since 1936. technical difficulties have prevented his naturalisation.
