Belgian Traitors To Die
(Rec. 1 p.m.) BRUSSELS, March 4. Three Belgians, Jules Renault,. Mario Simoens and Jan Schmidt, were sentenced to death for espionage. Renault, aged 38. worked for the German secret service for three years, and with his mistress, Mario Simoens. 29, penetrated the resistance oK ganisatiens. resulting in the delivery of patriots and escaped Allied war prisoners into German hands. When the Nazis left Belgium. Renault was supplied with a wireless and intended to continue to supply military information to the enemy. \ Schmidt, an enemy agent of long standing, had agreed to carry out espionage and cabotage for the Germans. - - -
