Two Sisters Drowned In Pond At Bluff
(P.A.) INVERCARGILL, This Day. Two sisters were drowned in a pond near the enginesheds at Blufl yesterday afternoon, They were: Ladina Dawson, aged three years. Norma Dawson, aged five years. The ‘children were the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. L. Dawson, of Bluff. No one knows how the fatalities occurred. A small boy who had been playing with the children came home alone. A railway fireman, Mr. R. O’Sullivan, saw a child floating in the pond. He promptly went into the watei* and dragged her out, He applied artificial respiration without success. By this time a number of persons were on the scene and it was realised that the other girl was missing. The pond was dragged and her body was recovered.
