Allied Bombers Seal Brenner Pass Route
(Rec. 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 1. Allied bombers months ago cut the Brenner Pass, the German’s main route from Italy to Germany Continuing raids have since kept the pass unusable for trains, says the Rome correspondent of the Associated Press. Air intelligence officers are reasonably certain that Allied bombs have sealed off the pass. Heavy poundings of the tunnel systems have nullified frantic enemy repair efforts. The Air Ministry slates that R.A.F. bomber aircraft last night made' a heavy concentrated alack on Duisburg, inland harour and main centre of communications at the western end of -the Ruhr.
The pilot of a reconnaissance aircraft reported the glow of very la\’ge fires seen at a distance after the attack. Objectives at Hamburg were also bombed.
Night fighters and Intruders supported the bombers and attacked airfields, destroying at least two aircraft in combat. Four of our aircraft are missing.
