Comprising “Weirct Woman,” starring Anne Gvvynne. Lon Chaney and Evelyn Ankers, and ’’Melody Parade,” iia which Mary Beth Hughes and Eddie Quillan takeleading roles, a new double-feature programme opened at the Plaza Theatre last night. Even mere ingeniously plotted than other Chaney films. “Weird Woman” acquires added force through its gripping story, and the performances of a highlyskilled cast of actors. Chaney is shown in the role of a studious-minded sociology professor, after he returns to his college from a research expedition to a tropic isle, bringing with him as his bride an exotic beauty of mysterious origin. “Melody Parade” is an entertaining story of cabaret life, portraying its perpetual uncertainty and excitement.
