(Rec. 1.30 p.m.)
SYDNEY, This Day.
“New Zealand was a ‘returned soldier’s utopia’,” said Mr. K. McL. Bolton, chairman of the New South Wales Rehabilitation Committee of the Returned Soldiers’ League, on his return from a visit to the Dominion. “Compared with New Zealand, Australia has done nothing,” he said. “I should like to see the Dominion scheme adopted in its entirety in this country.” Returned soldier preference was a reality in New Zealand, added Br. Bolton. There, returned men were allotted 50 per cent, of Stale Houses as they became available.
