New Type Of ‘Pacific’ Ships
(Rec. 11 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Nov. 30. The Maritime Commission has disclosed two new types of ships now in service, styled Pacific ships, because of their high speed and extreme cruising range. The P2 passenger-ship has an overall length of 609 feet, a beam of 75 feet, with 18,000 horsepower; and the C 4 cargo-ship is 523 feet long, with a 72ft. beam, and 9000 horsepower.
