Carry Winter Garments In Bombers’ Bays

LONDON. October 3

American strategic bombers are participating in the terrific battle of supplies at present progressing in France, Belgium and Holland. Their bomb bays are carrying overcoats and uniforms for thousands of shivering American troops, says an Associated Press correspondent at Supreme Headquarters. General Eisenhower’s biggest problem at present is not Germany’s strength but speedy distribution of supplies to contend with approaching winter. It is apparent, despite Allied power, that the Supremo Command is preparing for a long winter campaign. Rains, which have come early, have robbed the Allies of one of their greatest assets—mobility and daily overwhelming air support.
