Hopes To Be Able To Announce Good News

(Special) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Prime Minister (Hon. P. Fraser) last night made the following statement regarding the progress of the Victory Loan. “In thanking all organisations, companies, men and women who have so generously subscribed to the Victory Loan, I hope on Wednesday night to be able to announce that the remaining £4,000,000 will have been over-sub-scribed.

“The thanks of all citizens are specially due to the loan committees which have done such magnificent work, and it is our duty to crown their achievement by a record result. “An over-subscribed loan will stir the hearts of our servicemen on all battle fronts.”
