Search For Missing Farmer Abandoned
Search for Hone Heremia Pairanm Te Wake, known as Brown Te Wake, missing from his home at Pungaru for the past month, has been abandoned. Police and settlers have been engaged in extensive searches through difficult country but these activities have been abandoned, although a watch for the missing man is still being maintained. Te Wake, who is a fanner. 44 years of age. is of unusual height, being 6ft 4in toll, and he is of medium build with sallow complexion and black hair turning grey. When last seen he was wearing a brown sports coat and fawn trousers and was not wearing a hat. Relatives and acquaintances of Te Wake's have been interviewed by the police in an ondeavdur to obtain a trace of his whereabouts but without result.
Johanna Brown Te Wake, daughter of the missing man, who was admitted to hospital suffering- from head in juries at the time her father disappeared. has now been discharged from hospital and is staying with relatives in tile Rawene district.
