Disastrous Mexican Flood
(Rec. 1 p.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 1. At least 500 peoplaf were killed or drowned in the worst|floods in Vera Cruz for 22 years, reports from Mexico Citystate. At least 200,000? people are homeless. Vera Cruz is isolated, a nearby' town has been inundated and) villages have been washed away. Croms suffered heavily. Fifty thousand tons* of grain and 200.000 tens of sugar have jbeon lost. Tobacco, banana and pineapple plantations were ruined.
