82 ,000 Prisoners From Coastal Garrisons

(8.0. W., 1.30 p.m.) , RUGBY, Oct. 1. A general round-up of Channel ports and coastal areas which have fallen since August up to capitulations at Calais shows that we have taken 82,000 prisoners from these places. This represents some eight divisions of 10,000 each —quite a sizeable force, says a correspondent at Supreme Headquarters. The garrisons were made up as follows: The area south of the Loire 19,000. Brest 26,389, St. Malo 3000, Le Havre 11,000, Boulogne 7300, Cap Gris Nez 13C0. Calais (estimated to date) 4000. but it is believed that the figure from Calais may be larger.
