Double Programme At Regent

Repeating his' former success in “The Mikado,”. Kenny Baker, leading American tenor, is starring in “Doughboys in Ireland”-, which commenced screening at the Regent Theatre last night. Baker's ing is one of the highlights of the picture, his renditions of such favourites as “Mother Machree," “When Irish Eyes are Smiling,” “McNamara’s Band.” and “My Wild Irish Rose,” being delightful. With the story set against the background oi the activities of American troops in Ireland. the film is a gay romance enlivened by comedy and rounds into excellent entertainment. Supporting feature is “The Crime Doctor’s Strangest Case.” an exciting film in which Warner Baxter Is the star.
