Typhoons Hit Canadians
LONDON, August 20. Typhoons, attacking Germans in the Faiaise pocket on Friday, operated so close to our forward iroops that some of our vehicles were hit in error. The Canadian. Commander-in-Chief (General Crerar) issued a statement stressing the pilots’ difficulties owjng to the convergence of the British® .Canadian and American armies on a common objective to avoid wrong conclusions. He pointed out the accomplishments to 11 p.m. on Friday. Incomplete figures were: 77 tanks set on fire, 42 left smoking and 55 damaged: 900 motor transports set on fire, 478 left smoking, and 712 damaged.
