Britain Always Generous

(P.A.) WELLINGOTN, This Day A tribute to the generous action of Great Britain in the recently announced trade proposals with New Zealand was paid at a meeting of Wellington Chamber of Commerce by the president (Mr. Frank Wilson), who emphasised that the country’s response to Britain’s needs must be whole-hearted. The total of announced price increases, he said, was £32,500,000. As in the past, and through the long years of the war, our future welfare art destiny continued to be most closely linked up with Britain, and it was essential that the response should be whole-hearted. A most helpful contribution to this end would bo a substantial increment to the Dominion's London funds as a result of these adjustments and additional returns on new contracts for primary produce, thereby assisting in the financing of much-needed and essential import items.
