Dewey is Nominated

(Ree. 1 p.m.) NEW YORK, June 28

The Governor of New York State (Mr T. E. Dewey) was nominated for President on the first ballet at the

Republican Convention at Chicago. The vote was 1056 to one. The solitary vole recorded against was that of Grant Ritter. Wisconsin, who cast his vote for General MacArthur. Mr John W. B nicker withdrew

his candidature as soon as Dewey’s name was placed in nomination. The convention nominated Mr Bricker for Vice-President.

Mr. Dewey is flying to Chicago from Albany to make Ids acceptance : pcech tonight.
