7000 AIRCRAFT OUT DURING 48 HOURS

(Z p.m.) LONDON, April 28. In the 48 hours to nightfall tonight, a record total of about 7000 Allied aircraft pounded targets in Germany .and occupied territory. Daylight activity today was on a smaller scale than yesterday, but hundreds of fighters and bombers streamed out from Britain all day, attacking airfields, communications and German defences. Daylight operations from Britain have now continued without a break for a fortnight.
