To Hold Discussion On Post-war Shipping

NEW YORK, April 28

A tentative British and American diplomatic discussion on post-war shipping has been initiated, says the Washington correspondent of the “New York Times,” but the actual negotiations will not begin befoi’e the American elections.

The “New York Times” points cut that the Unbed States insists that if must carry at least 50 per cent, ot its post-war trade in its own vessels, while the Eritish hold that they should not have to sacrifice their position because they bore the brunt of the sea war for other nations. Holland and Norway take the same stand. Shipping experts believe that if all desires are satisfied there will be two ships for each cargo a few years after the war.
