French Railways Fail Because Of Bombing
NEW YORK, April 28
The devastating bombings of the invasion coast have reportedly disrupted the entire railroad system, making it impossible to evacuate the population of Paris as planned, because there are not enough trains left to take care of German troops, much less French civilians.
This is reported by the Berne correspondent of the "New York Times, ’’ who adds that another indication of the disruption of rail traffic is found in the fact that the authorities announced that food supplies for Paris will be carried on canal routes. Sabotage has intensified transportation difficulties.
