Internationalism Of Flying Favoured
(8.0. W.) RUGBY. April 26 The Labour Party’s report on postwar civil flying recommends internationalisation of commercial aviation throughout the world with the formation of an international air authority for control of airways. This includes all airways in Europe, whether internal or otherwise. “We make these proposals for two main reasons,” the party states. “Firstly, we are profoundly impressed by the dangers of leaving man’s conquest of the air to be exploited as a national instrument, whether for purposes of destruction or economic dominion: secondly. because flying can be the most beneficent means of bringing the peoples together, but can only do so efficiently if organised on a scale commensurate with the range of the aero lanes.”
