After 21 years' service as town clerk of the Russell Town Board. Mr. A. H. Hitchcock resigned on December 21, 1D43. Mr. S. C. Waller lias now succeeded him.
During the absence of General Puttick from New. Zealand, Brigadier W S. Gentry is acting as Deputy Chief of the General Staif. General Puttick is with the Prime Minister in the United States, where he will discuss military matters.
