Greek Troops Mutiny In Middle East

LONDON, April 25. A military mutiny occurred among Greeks in the Middle East simultaneously with the naval mutiny which ended at the weekend. This was revealed in an official communique issued at Cairo, which states: “Early yesterday the First Greek Brigade which in the last three weeks refused to comply with orders of their commander-in-chief, laid down their arms and vacated their camp. This ended a mutiny organised by subversive elements which destroyed all discipline in the brigade. It is now hoped to reorganise reliable elements of the brigade in order that it may play a worthy part in the liberation of Greece.”
