Revive Hikurangi Rugby
Unanimous decision ;o recommence the activities ol' the Hikurangi Rugby Club, which has been recessed since 1942, was made by a meeting called in the Hikurangi recreation ground on Sunday morning. The club is 1.0 nominate a junior team and efforts arc to be made to fibtain, in addition a fifth grade team. First practice will be on Saturday next. Permission has been granted by (he Hikurangi Town Board for the club to use the grounds for regular matches. Officers elected were:—Patron, Dr. C. L. Cook: president, Mr. W. Kelsall; vice-pre-sidents. Messrs. J. Biggar. R. Thorburn* C. Stockley, Jnr., D. Cochrane, Const. McCruer. S. Proctor N. Archer, B. Belcher and T. Clarke; secretary-treasurer, Mr. S. J. Wood; assistant, Mr. C. Raisbeck; honorary surgeon, Dr. Cook; auditor, Mr. J. Fyfe; team coach and manager, Mr, C. Gibson; ground supervisor, Mr. N. Archer; general committee, Messrs. S. Proctor, E. Ayton, L. Doyle. H. Edmundcon and C. Raisbeck; delegates to Whangarei Union, Messrs. W. Kelsall and C. Gibson.
