NEW YORK. April 23.
After the first meeting 4 of the governing body of 1.L.0. a statement was issued announcing that China would have one of the eight places assigned to chief industrial states, says the Philadelphia correspondent of the “New York Times.’’
This action was taken to indicate that another place would be ready for the Soviet when she decided to reenter the 1.L.0. The Australian delegation opened the question which led to the temporary naming of China as Japan’s successor. It was indicated that Australia would become a member of the governing body to fill the vacancy left by Spain.
