Street Performances By Air Force Band

Restricting its street marching this morning to a short period, the Royal New Zealand Air Force Band, assisting in the campaign for recruits for the air force, gave instead a selected programme ol music at the intersection of Bank and Cameron Streets. The crowd was not as large as for the first appearance of the band in the streets but the selections, all of popular music, were well received and a good sum was taken for patriotic purposes by flag collection. This afternoon the band gave a similar performance, as well as ceremonial marching, to a larger crowd and patriotic funds again benefited. To-night in the Town Hall the band’s dance orchestra will play for a patriotic dance and to-morrow the visit will end, the band returning south by mid-’ day express.
