Questions were asked when the House of Representatives met at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. Answering an urgent question by Mr W. J. Broadfoot (Oppn., Waitorno) concerning the likely duration of rail restriction the Minister for Railways (Hon. R. Semple) said that although the coal situation was still serious, the Railways Department had not given consideration to any further restriction in railway travel. The Minister said that, should the position further deteriorate and warrant further action being taken, due warning of impending restrictions would be given.
