Further Attacks On Carolines, Marshalls

(1.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, March 14, Further attacks on the Carolines and eastern Marshalls are reported in a Pacific Fleet communique. Mitchells on Sunday bombed Kusaie, starting several fires. Liberators and Dauntlesses attacked four bases in the eastern Marshalls, hitting a cantonment area and radio station at one base and damaging gun emplacements and blowing up an ammunition dump at another base.

Navy search planes bombed two Marshalls bases and damaged two enemy fighters in the air near Ponape. No American planes were lost in these operations.
