Invasion Chiefs Watch Last Rehearsals

(8.0. W.) RUGBY, February 27

Chiefs of invasion armies have been touring among troops under their command in the past two days, watch ing them in battle training. General Eisenhower, Air Chief Mar shal Tedder and General Montgomery watched British units somewhere in England on Thursday. Yesterday the trio rode right into the middle of a “battle” between an American armoured unit and defending infantry and artillery. From a hillside they saw massive tanks ranged in rows, being used as massed artillery, firing 75mm. projectiles at targets in the valley. Several times General Montgomery selected targets and quick work on the telephone saw the guns switched and shells falling accurately in ,the selected spot.
